The conclusion to an aclaimed set of superhero films, Endgame is suprisingly disapointing. The movie isn't the epic, vibrant climax it feels like it should be, not that there isn't any worthwhile alternate directions, as the first two acts have a lot of silliness and convoluted storytelling. The film begins without a proper introduction; it feels like a sequence, the way the movie treats itself, not a complete film. You can't call this movie creative because it's a collage of different background; the entire plot heavily rellies on previous films without a defining or consistent style. When Endgame tries to conclude or progress storylines on the spot, it comes of as an underwhelming rush. A dozen of strange decisions were made for characters and the overall tone. The misfit elements really pushes what is proposed as a cinematic finale into a nonsensical surrealism. What I do like about the film is how well built up themes are handled. Infinity War was a powerful and grand thunder. Engame controbutes to this Knockout with a wise goodbye, without all of the flashy imagery. Verdict: A Frankenstein of ideas containing a tearish overview, but ultimately it wasn't the satisfying, epic conclusion we should've gotten. 4/10
