This is imho a very good movie. I saw it in 1974 on ABC and really liked it.It's a different kind pr lole for Andy Griffith. He's NOT a lovable sherriff by any means in this one.Sam Bottoms is also very good as Ben, the guy Andy chases through the desert. I think any one that likes a good old good guy -bad guy movie would like it a lot. Ths movie was great,and the book. was even better.
