I have to say that this game is wonderful. A while back i grabbed up dark souls 3, the first From Software title ive played since Tenchu. I grew bored with it after only a week or two of playing. I have purposefully shied away from the Souls titles for this reason and a few others, due to the stigma of difficulty surrounding them. I am not a hardcore gamer, and the notion of constant repitition was not a draw for me, rather an avoidance. The games directly in my lane are the arkham series, and Diablo: either 2.5D isometric or mostly open world fighter games such as Batman. Having said this, Sekiro has shattered my expectations and brought a newfound interest (or rather an old interest renewed like Tenchu) to gaming for me. Yes this game is difficult and ive read reviews about how Sekiro has surpassed Souls in difficulty, but i just dont see it. Im breezing through this title and loving every minute! The landscapes are breathtaking, mechanics are smooth and fluid, and the story is delightfully dark and detailed. Not mention im obsessed with the era of history known in feudal japan. What else can i say? Being an immense fan of Zatoichi, when i see enemies drop before me in a flawless motion and single strike of my katana, the entire world combines with my fascination with samurai/shinobi history and comes to life before my eyes. Pick up this title. You won't regret it.
