The book was brilliantly thought-provoking. But the Netflix show has corny dialog and nudity which I think are cheap devices to keep audiences hooked. With Dune Part 2 still fresh in our minds, this Netflix adaptation is a huge step down in terms of screenwriting and production.

JJ tried so hard to clean up this trilogy that there was a new plot point every minute. The lack of effort of the story telling is on par with the last season of Game of Thrones. Instead of producing a well-planned mythology, they tried to reproduce the magic by recycling the original trilogy in a rush. Disney plagiarism at its finest..
