This film speaks volumes about attitudes towards and the treatment of mental ill health and unmarried mothers, particularly in Catholic Ireland during the mid twentieth century. It's an intriguing tale told with empathy and sensitivity. Apparently the film critics did not like it but what do they know, earning their livings off the backs of people who actually have talent. If you have any emotional intelligence then you will probably enjoy this film. Vanessa Redgrave, as usual, gives a brilliant understated performance.

Some of the reviewers just don't get this film. It's meant to be beyond belief. If you want reality then watch a documentary for God's sake. Makes me think it's "Hannie Caulder meets Freddy Krueger". in this Western Horror. It's a revenge movie that despite some far fetched scenarios (yes, you will have to suspend your disbelief) is quite entertaining if you like a simple story line wrapped up in lots of blood and guts. Not a film to watch while your having your dinner. The name "Organ Trail" not "Oregon Trail" is a bit naff and does suggest that it's all a bit "tongue in cheek" 😂😂

Great show. "Designated Survivor" meets "The West Wing". If you like political dramas then you will like this. Roll on season 2.

A pretty intense movie, nicely shot but with an over complicated story line made worse due to a lack of information about what is actually happening and a mix of characters which make it difficult to figure who the good guys really are. If you like movies that reveal very little to help you to understand what is going on then this will be right up your street.

A chick flick with a difference. Hard hitting mobster movie with three tough women in a criminal man's world. Elizabeth Moss takes a break from The Hanmaids Tale to turn the table on patriarchy in this gritty 1970s period piece.

A Swedish student studying in America invites his friends on a vacation to visit the commune in Sweden where he grew up. Unknown to them they are to become reluctant participants in a series of violent cult rituals fueled by psychotropic substances that lead to a disturbing conclusion. The film is kind of cliche and very predictable in places with some unconvincing acting, particularly among some of the looney extras but it has a few shocking surprise moments. If you like gore without any real sophistication in the narrative then this will be right up your street. Rather long and slow moving, the story could have been told in 1hr30mins and not 2hrs20mins. Sadly, as psychological thrillers go, this is NOT The Wickerman.

OK as this genre goes. John Travolta and Christopher Meloni raise this movie from one out of ten but it's still a far fetched gung ho American God and Guns movie. Escapism for all closet vigilantes where the bad guys always lose. Not a hint of reality. I wish American film makers would take a lesson from the Brits and Europeans who know how to make a good movie.

A pretty dark movie. Classic film noir with limited dialogue, long scenes and arty shots with some weird background music. A story of how desperation can drive normal people into abnormal behaviour. Michelle Pfeiffer captures the feeling with great style. If you are into stories of hopelessness and despair with a curious twist then this is a must see. Otherwise, maybe give it a miss.

A story that explores one man's encounter with "Self" through his search in deep space for his missing rogue astronaut father. The movie tells of his ultimate self realisation resulting from this emotional journey into the unknown. Not an unfamiliar plot, "Man's epiphany when confronted with the infinite" and as "genre" movies go it doesn't really add anything new some 50 years after "2001 A Space Odyssey" which still remains the benchmark for this type of Science Fiction. Decent CGI and some better than average acting from Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones and Donald Sutherland fails to elevate this movie above the mundane.

The critics of this film and critics in general are just a bunch of talentless jerks who get off on slamming anyone you shows an ounce of talent or creativity. Don't listen to them. This movie has an intriguing plot with some intersting twists. Darkly funny and well acted. As black comedies go it definitely hits the spot for me. Rosamund Pike is brilliant as usual. There are people on here trying to be clever by finding flaws in the realism of the storyline. I say, "get a life, it's fiction". If you are over seventy it may give you nightmares or at the very least something to think about.
