The parallels of the1720s outbreak of smallpox in Colonial America (before it was even called America) to the current 2020 Covid-19 epidemic circumstances in our time are a remarkable sidelight to the revelations of a fascinating snippet of history in this book. I first was led by a thirst for information about the pre-revolutionary times and events in America, and especially about Benjamin Franklin. So little has been written about Franklin compared to George Washington, the magnet to whom all history lovers gravitate. This book is an exciting eye opener to some of the formative times and events of Franklin's early life. As this book was written a few years before the current Covid epidemic, the writer could not have known how currently relevant this story could be. The old saying about the past being prologue seems correct. For myself, discovering the story of early Franklin was enjoyable. Everyone should have this book in their personal library. I hope for more books from this author.
