Just finished what I assume is the final season. This is Victorian Gothic London only the British could do. When Drs. Frankenstein and Jekyll have a passionate conversation over science and philosophy while Dracula reigns terror over London, and dialog is quoting Shelley’s “Adonais: An Elegy on the Death of John Keats” and Wordsworth’s “Ode on Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood”, well… I think masterfully done. And let’s add an homage to the plight of women and the “underclass”. There will be critics naturally, but immerse yourself in the world that is Penny Dreadful. Let go fully. At the end, you will shed a tear as I did for an epic tragedy.
