I don’t Care what anyone says this was an absolute masterpiece and the movie of the year.
This movie not only talks about the patriarchy and why it’s such a damaging thing but it also talks about woman hood, the struggle of it.
I understand many men will of come out of that movie with a sour taste in their mouth but I ask that you think about the TRUE message of the movie, and not how it looked at a surface level. The movie was never EVER about bringing women higher than men, never. It’s about equality, it’s about the fact that women can do it, women can be lawyers, construction workers, presidents, CEOs women can be anything.
“When someone had privilege, they see equality as degrading” this is something someone once said to me and it really stuck. I See men complaining about the barbie movie, about how it’s about spreading male-hating propaganda when in reality it’s not. It’s about the female experience. And it’s the first ever movie to TRULY talk about it and show it in such a perfect way. If you really walked out of your cinema and thought “I feel emasculated” you need to talk a long hard look in the mirror. You need to reflect. Think over the movie.
This movie was perfect and I recommend it. To all genders. It’s a learning experience for all. It’s for the people, not just for women. Please, if you have the time, go and watch it.
I walked out of the cinema and I felt something. My life has changed—as dramatic as it may sound. I feel empowered, and proud to be a woman, this film was amazing.
