When they talk about a movie that “has heart”…. This… is THAT. This movie has become a holiday staple for me and my husband. The characters rise above the usual (and loveable )Hallmark stuff… a beautiful, heartwarming story anchored by Fran Drescher, who seems to be adorably improvising every scene. And the two leads are so incredibly appealing.. love love love ….

The scariest thing about this movie is the terrible writing and the bizarrely-paced editing. These strange pauses, the camera lingering on faces long after it should have cut away…stage-y blocking…unrealistic, repetitive dialogue, always cutting back to what appears to be the same outside shot of the house at night … it has the look of a student film where the director cast his friends due to budget constraints. There truly is not ONE SINGLE SCARE in this entire film. I made myself watch it to the end to see if anything actually HAPPENS. It doesn’t.
