The show started off strong, with excellent performances by the two leads. However the plot got increasingly more ridiculous as the story progressed, going far beyond the bounds of believability, and in doing so undermining the emotional themes.

Make no mistake, this is in the top tier of action rogue-lites. It plays much like Hades, but what it lacks in narrative, it more than makes up for in combat. The combat is slower, and relies on precision, strategy and timing to succeed. It is challenging yet fair, with just enough variety to keep you engaged for a few dozen runs.

Original premise, great characters, plot and performances. Has a lot of thrills and is definitely worth a watch.
