An extremely insightful book not just about legal education and the shaping of the legal mind, but about what it means to think generally. It addresses issues of social stratification, power, vulnerabilities, loss of innocence... Mertz writes with a uniquely accessible style, instructing as she critiques, and this is the rare book that applies equally to the lay and the expert alike. I really think anyone interested in law and society, and in education, will enjoy this book tremendously.
