First and foremost, I played Rocket League extensively since the week it released on console. I battled my way into the All Star League and loved every second of it. Sideswipe is no different. I find the 2D format to be furthermore simple than the 3D format of the console which allows all sorts of players to rise to the top. However, on a side note, an issue I found to be exhausting not only exists on the console but also in Sideswipe: Not everyone is as good on offense as they would like to believe. I often find myself stuck being goalie since just about everyone I team up with tries to shine and ultimately costs us more points for our opponents than necessary. Are you interested in progressing quicker than you already are? Learn defense. If the other team cannot make a goal, they cannot win. It’s that simple. If you see your teammate constantly in the goal, that’s because you have been measured and have been found to be more of a liability than they would like. This is YOUR teammate. Do them a solid and defend the goal; cycle in and out. Chances are that they have been thoroughly watching the other team and have noted their tactics most commonly used and know how to get around them. Even when that teammate finally gets to be on the offensive, please try not to constantly boost all of the way to the other side to try and blast a shot past their defenses. Once in the Gold League, there are many players that know how to dribble in the air and, once perfected, such a tactic is dominant. Be a teammate, not a hindrance. Game on, my fellow competitors.
