Jake is a terrible leader and dad for the whole film, and what plot devices aren’t reused from the first movie are nonsensical. Why does the leader of a tribal nation abandon his people to hide with his family? Why does these poor children’s mother have like a minute of dialogue in the whole film? Why are the military seemingly symbiotically linked to the whaling industry? Is this abysmal voiceover going to give us needless exposition for the ENTIRE movie? You’ll have to give up 3 hours of your life if you want to find out. Side note: for the love of god, either show the native populations nipples or give them something resembling a shirt. The feathers/beads that constantly land exactly in place are at best distracting, and at worst impossible to suspend disbelief over.
