I absolutely loved it. It was a beautiful portrayal of King Louis XV & his long time mistress, Jeanne Du Berry. I think this was a perfect role for Depp, stepping out into the world of artistic films after the drama that played out in is personal life the past few years. He was an excellent monarch & Maiween played the role if his lover to a tee. She was also the director. The costumes were on point; so beautiful and elaborate. I thought by having the film in French, it really made you feel like you were there; watching a king and his lover and all of the drama that played out between the two from the moment they met through the moment she had to bid adieu. When it's streaming for free, I'll watch it many more times.
