in this movie percy is a jerk who even at one point yells at chiron saying that it was chiron's war and doesn't affect him , annabeth is not like the daughter of athena but the daughter of ares and grover is way too confident and if it went like the movie he should have been given the searchers license because he rescued them rather then him being dragged by percy and his mom .He is also flirting with aphrodite's daughters but in the book he says girls are tougher to understand than the oracle of delphi .And even after all of this nothing makes sense chiron gave the pen to percy to defend himself against the furies to prove himself and right after that chiron takes it back because he doesn't know percy is the son of poseidon but in the movie percy doesn't do anything and worse he doesnt even kill the hydra because grover does that he just increased trouble for them. It doesn't have the amazingness of the book such as the part where he is trapped in the arch and where he learns about his powers and we some character development
