If you've read the book, and I know it's a cliche, this film just doesn't cut it. It lacks the grace, the depth, and the subtlety of Haruf's brilliant (as are all his books) novel. It filled an evening during this virus isolation, but not more. Sadly, I was constantly aware that I was watching actors - they never really took on and became the people they were playing. If you want to be moved by characters, feel their pain, their joys, and their lives, skip this and read the book - very much more compelling and satisfying.
