I had high expectations for this movie having grown up with Bernstein's Young People's Concerts and seeing him conduct the NY Philharmonic several times. To say I was very disappointed would be an understatement. While Carey Mulligan was outstanding, the film was disjointed and poorly edited. Scenes appeared to be tossed into the final cut with no lead in or follow up. I would have preferred to have more of a linear plot line, instead one had guess the time period based on extraneous details. Overall a disappointment.

It took a while, but by the fourth episode I was hooked. Terrific cast and interesting storylines that intersect with Boston's history of crime and racism. I'm looking forward to more seasons of this fine show.

Outstanding acting and editing.

Great character development is woven into various the story arcs of season 1. I am looking forward to watching the remaining two seasons.

Dreadful. Contrived and obvious plotline combined with terrible acting. Avoid this movie.

Outstanding. The overarching theme of how a murder can rock the lives of people in a small town was on point. The character development and the acting were first-rate. I found myself mentally comparing it to Broadchurch which focused on a similar theme. The dark despair of the characters in Mare of Easttown combines a sense of hopelessness with a will to keep on. I would love to see the series return for extended seasons.

A film that might have told a compelling story of rivalry instead comes up a dud. Too many short edited scenes interupt the film's continuity. In addition, the film fails to provide a solid timeline so it skips nearly two decades without explanation. Not recommended.

Awful. I generally like European series, but this was one the worst I've ever encountered. I think I stayed with it because each episode was only 30 minutes in length and I thought it might improve over time. It didn't. Each episode contained sub-par writing, directing, editing and below sub-par acting. Not worth watching. I would give it a zero if that was a viable option.

Mediocre at best. Poor writing creates a narrative with large enough holes to drive a truck through. Little to no character development except the characters of Daisy and Billy who are uninteresting and unlikeable.

A question of rape comes down to the inevitable ambiguity of a she said/he said scenario where neither side can present prima facia evidence to support their position. The implausible ending destroys any credibiliry
