I read for pleasure and escape. I don’t want tedious and boring books, long, drawn out sagas. Although it started out a little slowly I found it to be a page-turner and I loved it. The octopus represented the unknown to me, all that we don’t notice in our busy lives. And I cried.

I was disappointed but entertained. I didn’t expect it to be quite so sloppy but it did tug on the heart strings and build emotion. And the music brought back more than memories. It brought back a feeling of sweeter days.

As is often the case it doesn’t provide enough music. Teasers and tempters. It provides a timeline and early history of her life but I found the dark parts getting tedious. It’s not that I don’t have sympathy. It’s just that I wanted more music.
