Great plot and story arc, the story itself could have had lots of potential, but was held back massively by amateur cinematography and production methods that were carried out poorly. A lot of the transitions and editing seemed sloppy, nearly all the shots were either super close ups or very far away from the actors from above the air. The gymnastics and acrobatic performance takes were very repetitive with bad angles that didn’t capture enough movement that missed a lot of the stunts, and most of the scenes were much longer than they needed to be with a lot of the script being unnecessary and drawn out. This made the movie a lot slower and duller, which made me lose interest quite frequently.
The only reason I watched the whole movie is because I am a fan of Kellie Berglund; she and the rest of the cast did a well done job of acting, including character development and such, which made it tolerable to watch. I wouldn’t blame low budget, but the overall film production really needs a TON of improvement. The problem lies more along execution and skill, rather than expenses. It felt more like I was watching a high school montage project than an actual movie. It’s a real shame knowing it could be a five star film if there was proper directing/screen writing.
