I have a different idea on how to end this movie, here it goes: after 2000 years right? the technology is so advanced that they can create a full organic human body from that strand of hair he has, and the memory part I guess was somehow sorted in the movie. So, bingo! he got a real mother that he wished for, who would live on. Why not?
