For anyone with an interest in British post war tank design and the Chieftain in particular, this should be given a permanent place on your book shelf.
Forty was a serving Tank Commander and also had a lot to do with the Tank Museum at "Bovvy" and this excellent book provides technical detail, anecdotes, superb pictures and a great insight into the design, development, strengths and weaknesses of what is arguably the British Armies most misunderstood and maligned modern era Tank.
Their is also a section on the shir 1/2 programme and a brief post script on what MBT 80 may have become. (The book was written a year or so before the initial design specs for MBT 80 were made known to press and public). In conclusion I would say; Buy it, you won't regret it.
