Just watched this series in one hit on I player. Anyone who thinks this is a faithful retelling of the original book is in cloud cuckoo land. HG Wells must be spinning in his grave. A word of advice to screenplay adaptors - when you get the commission to provide an adaptation of a classic novel don’t mess about with it. If you want to write something with your own spin and slap your face political correctness come up with your own ideas. What a waste of everybody’s time this was
