Don’t pay any mind to the other reviews, they’re bogus. If you’ve seen the first movie, get ready for the same thing. Plot points from the first movie unfortunately make up the bulk of this 3 hour movie. SPOILERS AHEAD Just as in the original 2009 movie, we see Jake Sully and his children learning to hunt, communicate, and integrate within a strange new civilization. If culture shock wasn’t enough for you, the remainder of the movie sees no shortage of action with antagonists Colonel Miles Quaritch returning from the dead to spearhead Sully and his family for little more than revenge. For such a long movie, there is no room for character depth or plot development. If you’re easily impressed by stunning visuals and wonderfully choreographed combat, this is a five star movie for sure; however, if you’re looking for something original, inspiring, and new, look elsewhere.
