Aesthetically pleasing and uniquely stylized, charming and inventive slow storytelling and exquisitely acted. What a deep experience and joyful watch.

I don’t understand why this movie got produced; the storyline was long, messy, and overstretched, the dialogue was cliche at best, the forced narration of the manager felt so redundant that not even Tom Hanks could save it. Why do we need this story now? What did we learn about Elvis Presley except for the fact that he got famous singing songs that people of color couldn’t get famous singing themselves? . Unfortunately, not every movie that gets picked up is a choice worthy of acclaim. . That being said - brave to the writers, cinematographers, brilliant editors, fabulous actors and all the art team who did a fabulous job meshing the archive videos with the stage fed footage and creating so many memorable and iconic cinematic moments. This was truely a masterclass of dos and donots.
