SPOILERS AHEAD!
It didn't follow the lore enough and felt really mashed up, like vanessa from Fnaf SB is now aftons daughter? It feels way to mismatched and wasn't what we wanted, of course the cameo from matpat was awesome so was the fact living tombstones song was in the movie. The costumes for the animatronic's were wonderfully made and I enjoyed the visiuals.
The story just is too far from the original lore, it feels more like a movie about fnaf fanfiction than the actual game. They even changed how william aftens springlong failure happens I wanted it to stick to the original, having him run into a suit then water drips and it snaps on him.
I did enjoy watching it but story wise it was bad.I wish they would have been more faithful to the original game and not completely changed the lore, I just feel greatly disappointed after waiting for the fnaf movie for years only for it to end up being a story nothing like the original. I know the fnaf lore is full of holes but this is nothing like the original story at all.
The whole vanessa being william aftons daughter point i hated entirely, I mean in security breach she's max 30 years old and thats set in around 2029 to 2031. While the original game is set in 1993, it just feels like this jumbled up mashup of different games and completely new lore thats bad.
So yeah end of day, its not a great movie lore wise. But I still had a fun time watching it, the visuals are good but the pacing and story could have been better. Maybe in the future we can get a fnaf movie thats lore accurate who knows.
So end of the story, fun watch just for the giggles like the matpat diner scene and i was so hyped the ending was actually living tombstones fnaf 1 song. But lore wise its just this mess of lore not even remotely correct to cannon, they could have been better about being more faithful to the original lore.
