This movie is completely stupid. I was excited to see it because of the red panda and I thought it would be heart warming like Luca was but I couldn't be more wrong. I regret seeing it. It's definitely not a movie for kids or anyone else! Disney movies usually have a message but all this movie showed was a 13 year old girl doing things she shouldn't do like lying, disobeying, dishonouring*, being disloyal, drawing inappropriate things, being disrespectful**, running away, hitting her mom (even though they were both in panda form) and so on. But it wasn't enough to show such things, they showed them as if they were correct. "My body, my rules" people shouldn't think that way, who put us in the world were our parents, we must always obey and listen to them until we are independent enough to make our own choices wisely and we must always honor them even when we become independent! The mother's mistake was not to be controlling but to blame others and never hold her daughter responsible for the mistakes she made.
* For me the saddest part was when she managed to control the panda and when her mother asked how she did it she said she just thought about the people she loved the most, and no, it wasn't her parents it was her friends, her parents were so happy thinking it was them that I felt sorry for them.
** Please, when fantasizing about someone, try to put yourself in that person's shoes and ask yourself how that person would feel if they found out what you've been up to. Wouldn't you feel disgusted in that person's place?
When did integrity become so devalued?
Be honest, honorable, righteous, pure, self-less and kind. These are words we must teach our children and ourselves.
