People who are criticising this are either absolutely insane or have developed a taste for bad films. I'm a huge huge fan of Tolkien, and I was thrilled that they finally created something worthy of him again. Quite the opposite of that awful series, in this film, the lines, the characters, the plot, everything felt like a fourth one, so natural and Tolkien-like. I was in a cold sweat the entire time, I had goosebumps and I was pulling my hair out. It was absolute madness (My neighbours must have been scared by the screams and cheers). It's truly a shame that this film hasn't received the attention it deserves, and after that disappointing series I'm not surprised, most fans have already lost all hope for adaptations. But this one, oh this one was so refreshing. In fact the animation is CGI, at some points I criticised how the movements looked dodgy but before long I was completely drawn into the story and could see the beauty and dedication that went into it, even in the CGI, which is generally much worse than what we get with this film. At first I thought they would smash some activist ideals into it but no, it was clearly made by fans, for fans, with all respect and love for Tolkien's legacy. Seriously, I really hope there's more, nothing will satisfy me more. From a real human being (not a bot) with a mind and taste for good things, totally 10 out of 10.
