Just completed season 2 of the series after binge watching. Have to say that Sabrina keeps you hooked. The series is intricately woven with a crisp story line and sharp editing. The cinematography and the direction is smooth and mature. Although the series is set in the modern times, the visual appearance of the series has an old worldly charm, akin to the world of Harry potter but on a much smaller scale. All actors played an amazing role with importance distributed justifiably on everyone's shoulder. Mrs. Wardwell (Michelle Gomez), with her wide eyes, an aquiline protruding nose and sharp jawline, luscious hair and a perfect figure makes for a formidable yet sensuous witch blending well into the character. Sabrina, played by Kiernan Shipka, is a very confident young teenager taking every decision of her life with a maturity unlikely of teenagers. However, the character grabs too much importance as she tries to break every possible 'witch' and 'mortal' rule and is rather dominating and sometimes rude in her behaviour. The entire series inevitably gives a feminist vibe and is entirely run on female shoulders. For instance, apart from being the lead character itself, Sabrina lives in a house ruled by her 2 aunts and a cousin who is apparently bisexual but mostly inclined towards men. Sabrina has 3 friends of whom 2 are females(but one of the girl, Susie, identifies herself as a man and later rechristens herself as Theo) and the fourth is her boyfriend. The 'father' of the church of night, Fr. Blackwood, is portrayed as a misogynist. Sabrina's enemies-friends-enemies are the '3 sisters'. Lilith, the first love of the dark lord and Mrs. Wardwell is again a strong female vamp. Sabrina's boyfriend is shown to be slightly weak and relying on the help of Sabrina mostly. His father is shown to be an angry drunkard man, Susie is shown to be bullied by a few boys. Susie's uncle is again depicted as a homosexzual. Sabrina's second boyfriend, a rather smart and strong lad, well even he succumbs to the domination of Sabrina (phew). And finally, The dark lord is an evil male. So basically, all male characters are either weak or evil and the one's who are slightly good, they are dead(Adam).
