Twisters is a standalone sequel which introduces a totally brand new cast led by the always charismatic Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You), relative unknown Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing) and the multitalented Anthony Ramos (In the Heights, Hamilton). This is a great summer movie and definitely meant to be seen in theaters, preferably IMAX or its equivalent depending your theater choice. For all of its action and excitement the film really does have a heart much like its predecessor, each of the characters have their reasons for why they do what they do and how certain tragic events affect them. At just over 2 hours runtime it is pretty lengthy, but I never felt like it dragged. It’s got a great soundtrack made up of today’s top country music artist such as Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Kane Brown, Breland and so many more. I’m not that into country genre, but the music lends a such a great accent to the film that it’s hard not to notice. I even googled a song in the theater I liked it so much lol. Anyway, it’s not gonna win any significant awards, but if you’re looking for a fun movie that you can enjoy with the family since it’s a respectable PG-13, then you can’t go wrong with this one.
