Let me go ahead and say I'm a HUGE fnaf fan but in my opinion, The movie was okay.
Alot of people are saying it's amazing and how it was the best thing they've ever seen. I understand that to an extent. The animatronics looks amazing, the music was spot on, and the Easter eggs were cool.
The only issues I have is that springtrap is barely in the movie and he is the MAIN fear in the franchise, he is what people fear the most and the fact that he was on screen for maybe a few minutes, sucks. The scares in this movie are non-existent. Maybe a few jumpscares for little kids but it's definitely not scary for adults.
The acting is okay at best. Its not fantastic but it was okay. If they let Matthew have more scenes, it would've been great because he's such a good actor and he can really bring a evil character to life.
The movie is obviously tailored to children. I know alot of us fans who have been there since day one are adults now. But the way the kills were off screen and the fact that we have a whole friendly scene in the movie, proves it's more for kids. The main one getting kills in this is the cupcake, which is honestly ridiculous. Sure there's a few kills here and there but the true fnaf fans were definitely wanting more. Especially with the spring lock scene. That was a huge disappointment to me.
If you have Tweens or teens that want to see this, go for it. Like I've said before, I think it's more for teens who are into the fandom more than anything. Would I watch it again? Yeah, sure. But I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it. Its good and I'm glad it happened but it's definitely not something I would want to sit and watch on a movie night.
I'm hoping Scott will learn from his mistakes and if there is another movie, he will listen to what his fans want and make this movie scarier and have more blood than this one. If it had an R rating, this movie could've had much more potential.
