It’s Sci-Fi that packs in all of humanity’s angst and hopes with a strong female cast (Katie Sackhoff is terrific) and most of the cultural and sexual diversity of 2019. It even manages to positively promote Cannabis. Sure, it borrows heavily from others in its genre and some actions defy believability. For such an elite crew, how did some of them manage to skip Space Exploration 101 (where I’m 100% positive the first rule of law is not to remove your suit helmet and breathe the air on a new planet. I don’t care how many tests you have run on its chemical composition.)? But then again, that’s a classic sci-fi movie move. There are many interesting little sub-plots and character development to warrant a second series. Selma Blair is deliciously creepy.
