I must declare in the beginning that I am a proud Marathi-speaking Maharashtrian. This is one of the best movies I have seen, if not the best. It is so good that you feel like a part of the story and don't want it to end. You laugh and cry with Shaheer Sabale and his family. All the difficulties in his life are so well depicted that your respect for him is multiplied. It is an honest movie about a very proud artist who was a revolutionary and was ahead of his time. The music by Ajay-Atul is mellifluous and inspirational. Acting is excellent- looks and feels like they are "real people" and not actors. I had tears in my eyes- sad to see his and his family's difficulties, happy to see them come through as a family, and due to immense pride listening to his songs once all over again. Even for non-Marathi speaking people- do watch. You will surely enjoy it. Incidentally, Kedar Shinde is his grandson and the film also stars his great-granddaughter, Sana Kedar Shinde, in the role of Bhanumati Sable. Thank you Sabale family and Kedar Shinde for sharing the story of your grandfather with us and enlightening us. Jai Maharashtra!!
