Today’s Squawk on the Street suffered without Karl to moderate. David is a poor moderator who doesn’t listen and always tries to one-up Jim, and when he gets control he drones on endlessly about stocks that don’t matter. When Jim talks, it is often about himself. When Karl and Jim are together with or without David, the show is good. Without David, the show is great: Jim talks, Karl listens, interjects smartly, and directs the conversation appropriately toward the market and stocks with interesting asides. I’ve watched the show most mornings at 6am pacific time, but won’t in the future if Karl is not there.
