NOT BASED ON THE BOOK.
Another example of the book is way better than the movie. This one more so as โbased on the bookโ is used in the loosest sense of the word. As in NOT AT ALL. The books follow one storyline the movie follows a totally different storyline.
Disney: Hey, Harry Potter is really popular we should make a movie just like it. Oh, but we need different names so letโs find a book we can steal names from.
So itโs basically Harry Potter with the UDM kidsโฆ.or at least four kids with the same names - not even the same personalities ๐. I used this as an example to show my kids how different movies can be from books.
My suggestion: if youโve read the books donโt bother watching the movie, you will hate it. If you havenโt read the books, watch the movie and enjoy. Either way, I find it best to watch/read with the understanding THE MOVIE IS NOT BASED ON THE BOOK. THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORIES.
