NOT BASED ON THE BOOK.
Another example of the book is way better than the movie. This one more so as “based on the book” is used in the loosest sense of the word. As in NOT AT ALL. The books follow one storyline the movie follows a totally different storyline.
Disney: Hey, Harry Potter is really popular we should make a movie just like it. Oh, but we need different names so let’s find a book we can steal names from.
So it’s basically Harry Potter with the UDM kids….or at least four kids with the same names - not even the same personalities 🙄. I used this as an example to show my kids how different movies can be from books.
My suggestion: if you’ve read the books don’t bother watching the movie, you will hate it. If you haven’t read the books, watch the movie and enjoy. Either way, I find it best to watch/read with the understanding THE MOVIE IS NOT BASED ON THE BOOK. THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORIES.
