Just got this game today since it was part of the new monthly ps plus selection. And while i havent been playing long I’ve absolutely LOVED the game so far. It has the tropes as every gane does; a war torn story, magic, a special main character. But it doesnt feel like its a copy of any other game from the time ive been playing it, the combat is diverse and forces you to use certain types for certain situations instead of being like “heres a weapon so just spam it till its dead”. Which dont get me wrong with some parts of the weapon variety ( SPOILERS FOR MAINLY THE WEAPON VARIATIONS) like the green and blue types you can do just that, but the blue has farther range with more accuracy it takes less effort to swap to the weapon you need for the situation rather than just spamming with the medium ranged green one. It makes you think of more interesting ways of taking a fight and it doesnt feel like the combat is getting dull the longer i play. It is truly a very interesting game in story and combat, and if my perception changes as i play it i will be coming back to edit and give my thoughts further down the line. But even for a game thats nearly a year old it still has alot of potential to be a very popular game if more people get a chance to try it out, especially now that its readily available to console players bc of ps plus.
