MY OPINION, but hear me out…
The game was a product of an anger and irrationality towards previous titles
The game is good in terms of a return the flow that the original AC games had. The issue with the newer games is that they tried to be like other games they were not. They included all of these bonus features and changed the style of the game.
People understandably didn’t like it, and I get that some people are happy that it’s changed, but there’s a catch. As the each game progress the environment got more realistic, the map got bigger, the combat got more complex, etc…This is how a health game series evolves.
With this new game shrinks the map, tones down the combat, and never really fleshes out the story that well. These things are crucial in all AC games.
I understand that it was a former DLC for Valhalla, But at the same time It has been three years In between the release of Valhalla and Mirage. My theory is that the backlash against Valhalla and Odyssey caused an effect on Ubisoft decision to make Mirage different.
They heard the things that the community said, Try to treat those issues accordingly. The thing about it is, is that it swung to the extreme. They listened and the lessened. The tone down we got rid of Good things that were brought by the new games, And barely added anything that made the old games good.
Is this the community’s fault? No, but when you except something from a company, expect it to come in like a hurricane, and expect it to take years for them to listen. This is why I’m worried about the Upcoming Japanese, and witch trial games.
If Ubisoft is listening try to make the next games with the story and game flow of the originals, and the environment and bonuses of the new games.
