An exceptionally well crafted book that forces you to live through the atrocities of Nazi Germany in the 1930s and into the mid 1940s. Vivid development of flawed but courageous characters whose counterparts surely existed in reality. Beautiful back story of the bond between protagonists Hannah and Althea. A cautionary tale for anyone who thinks Hitler’s vicious and deadly web of deceit might never happen again in the 21st century, and a call to us all to muster the courage to rise out of our political apathy and NEVER let it happen!
