This is the greatest game in the history of video games. Or at least my favorite game of all time. You’re missing a piece of history if you don’t play this game. Period.

I’ve played the heart-pounding introduction to The Last of Us video game more times than I can count to showcase that game to both gamers and non-gamers alike, and every single person has been blown away every single time. I’m happy to say the show did this so much justice. Everyone in the room showed the same shock and interest as everyone who’s seen the game. That alone deserves praise, but throw in Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie and the magic they capture as these characters is undeniable. From the first moment we first see Ellie, you know you’re going to love this character. That’s how you know it’s special. Staying true to the story with small adaptations to better fit a cinematic experience is going to make this show shine. The story is already proven as brilliant, and now that consumers can access it without the barrier of needing a controller, there’s no way this show doesn’t shine.
