Masterpiece Alert! In every sense, this show is a masterpiece for me! The black and white cinematography, the compositions, the direction, the writing, the score, the pacing, the editing, and finally, the acting! This retelling of "Ripley" created by Steven Zaillian is stunning in every scene, featuring one of the finest television performances ever by Andrew Scott. This show brings a fresh perspective, not just in storytelling but in its entire approach. It's a realistic and captivating portrayal of a psychopath's ruthless ambition to climb the social ladder. Unlike recent films like "Saltburn" or the original "Mr. Ripley," this series explores deep into the psyche of someone willing to go as far as they can to get what they want, the sometimes absurd lengths one goes to cover up their crimes, and the peculiar mix of charm and cold-bloodedness. Andrew Scott's performance deserves far more recognition. The mix of his peculiar charm and cold-bloodedness is amazing. Steven Zaillian's directorial approach is a masterclass in building tension, with a slow-burn trajectory toward madness and moments of quiet reflection that define a psycho's mind. I wish I could write and create something like this in a small manner and die happily.

It is one of the best Bollywood films I have seen in a long time. Imtiaz Ali is surely back in the game, or perhaps he never left, and the audience wasn't ready for his films, as is the case with most of his. The performances are nuanced, and the live singing of the actors takes it further up a notch. From the very beginning, one feels he is watching the real characters and not someone who is portraying them, which you want in a biopic. The direction, dialogue,  pacing of the film, the popular music montages of Imtiaz Ali, the tragic story in itself, and the feeling this film emotes—everything is just a chef's kiss. I wish this was released on the big screen and was accessible to us too. This is like Rockstar too in many ways, and with every watch, you might discover something new!

Watch it! But only for the mesmerizing performance Vidya Balan gives. Movie is very overhyped in terms of its direction and screen play. But man Vidya really shines in each and every frame of this movie. Emraan Hashmi and Naseer Sir are just at par in terms of acting in this one. And yeah there is Tushar Kapoor too and you know the rest..
