It feels like the writing team had to run every idea through the public relations / HR teams to get approval before being able to put them into the game. The writing / story seems crafted in a manner where it's more concerned about checking off DEI boxes to make sure they put everything into the game they need to, as opposed to just trying to deliver a good story.
Veilguard comes across as though it's trying desperately to avoid potentially offending or upsetting anyone, while simultaneously trying to appease.. certain crowds. There is no risk taking, it only plays it safe at every turn, everything just feels so arbitrary.
Looks-wise, the game resembles a Disney or mobile phone dragon age game that feels like a comedy a lot of the time; there's nothing dark, nothing scary, no grit to it. You don't really ever get the feeling that you or your companions are in any serious danger whatsoever - there is just a pronounced feeling of there being no real consequence for anything.. Overall, it was very disappointing and absolutely not what I expected from a DA title.
