So, little mermaid is one of my favorite movies. I had high expectations for this movie. Of course when I saw that Ariel was being played by someone that was not white, it was confusing. It was hard while watching it to think, this girl is Ariel. Now, halle is an amazing singer and I think she did okay with the acting part. She is bubbly and beautiful and I think she did a great job. I think they should've kept the movie closer to the normal Disney movie length instead of dragging it out over 2 hours. It was nice to see scenes like the shark and ship scene look exact or close to the animated version. The best part was Ursula mixing the water with the triton. That was cool to see IRL. I think they missed the mark, but barely. I wish her hair was RED! It has an orange hue with blonde highlights mixed in. She was wearing little to no makeup, like no mascara or the iconic red lipstick that Ariel wears. The fan pics that people made of halle with the red hair are so much better than what they chose. I think that if she had RED hair, and a little bit of a red lip, I could've seen her as ARIEL!!!!! for real, the lack of red in her hair is something that I dislike more than anything. I don't understand why they wanted orange hair 😭 also, the fact that they made her sisters look like they were wearing their country's flag colors and stuff was lame. Also, the mermaid sisters were named A names in the original, but one in the remake was named India.... Dressed like a woman from India. They are just trying too hard with the DEI!!!!!
