such a waste of money. i have lost all respect for salman khan after watching this who i previously loved in movies such as ready and bodyguard. this movie is a joke, yet terribly unfunny. extremely graphic violence such as multiple people being stabbed in the stomach with gory noises of the knife being pulled out coupled with zero plot, salman khan taking on a bizarre persona referring to himself as 'hum' constantly and speaking in near enough sanskrit as well as constantly making overdramatic entrances and exits with nothing to back it up made for an incredible painful to watch experience. this is the first time i have ever fallen asleep during a movie. there is no dimension to any character, the baddie is just 'bad' with no explanation as to why or his perspective. salman khan is portrayed as some kind of revered god who everyone is terrified of/respects immensely which honestly gets boring after the first few times. some of the creepier parts of the movie are him being engaged to a girl whose under 18 while he's 54 (as you do) and him watching a video of 5 year old boys in their underwear dancing in a bathroom. which interestingly enough, the audience seemed to find endearing (?) all in all i think next time i see a movie with salman khan starring ill avoid. i previously WAS a fan but the cult like status around him in this role was very weird. especially regarding the acts he made his enemies do such as: kiss each other, beat each other up. and this was supposed to be funny. if people honestly received this well, this signals the start of a dark era of comedy for bollywood.

the trailer does not do this film justice. from the trailer it just looks like a comedy, but this film is so much more than that. this film is not just funny, its thought provoking, challenging, emotional and also fairly taboo breaking in its home country. the frank and open discussion of sex and infertility in couples is something that is definitely a positive forward step in bollywood in showing that life isn't always a fairytale. the two contrasting couples, urban, westernised city dwellers vs the traditional punjabi fun loving couple is hilarious. this film did make me almost cry towards the end! and the ending does not disappoint. you can really feel the emotion through the acting. akshay kumar is excellent as always. i would recommend everyone to see this film.
