This album is like drinking beer. It can be bit of an acquired taste for some, requires a little more time to process, but definitely gets the job done for those that endure. The first time around it tastes a little funky but turns into a good time. You try it a few more times and the flavor becomes less of a factor and your having a blast. Then you develop a taste for it and your drinking microbrew. You realize this isn't just some mass produced garbage piss water that they shove down our throats through hundred million dollar ad campaigns. This is a unique, well curated, specialty beer that can only be the result of a passion, love, and understanding of one's craft. You're now hooked and find yourself thinking about it when it's not around. You start getting withdrawals when you can't get your fix. Next thing you know your in a 12-step program and feel the need to let everyone know about it. The only difference here is that there are no regrets or need to make amends. But in all seriousness...this album is totally far out man! Geese has managed to carve out their own unique, original sound that draws inspiration from a vast array of musical styles and genres. From the poetic clever deep and often silly lyrics, to the rockin guitar riffs, to the drum grooves, to the melodic keys and backup vocalists, down to the funky bass lines, 3D country (and the follow up ep 4D Country) fills a void in the musical landscape that has become exceedingly harder and harder to find. Well played Geese. Yes I recommend it. My name is Jesse and I'm an alcoholic.
