I just read this book, 15 years after it first came out and I must say this book was awesome! It definitely needs to be made into a movie. So many colorful characters weaving in and out of each other's situations reminded me of Pulp Fiction and other similar stories. Rain Gods is dark, funny, and well-paced. There are some words and dialogue that may be offensive to some readers, but I think they serve more as windows into the kinds of people the characters are as well as Texas border climate back in 2009.
