This is the best of a few documentaries I've seen about typewriters. It's filled to the brim with different types of people who represent the different nuts and bolts of the culture. Amongst the typewriters' more well-known patrons, are Tom Hanks, Sam Shepard, David McCullough, and John Mayer. Then there are guys like Herb Permillion and his (unfortunately now defunct) California Typewriter store, that all typewriter enthusiasts owe a debt of gratitude. Despite closing shop in March of this year, they really did a lot towards putting this machine back on the map of our culture, reinforcing itself back into the everyday life of Americans and possibly elsewhere also.
