The Velocity physics engine embedded in the Infernal engine is a triumph in programming that allowed real-time destruction, volumetric fluid dynamics, hair physics and cloth physics. If I had witnessed Ghostbusters the Vdeo Game when it came out on an Xbox 360 or PS3 I would have rushed out to immediately buy the console. Oddly this game does not seem to usually make the short list of games with great destruction physics.
We begin in the Ghostbusters headquarters where I witnessed Parallax Occlusion Mapping on a brick wall when going down stairs. Destruction with fine granularity and debris persisting. A watery basement with volumetric waves resonating off character. A tablecloth interacting with forces and decent pathing. Light sourcing generating drop shadows adding to the spookiness.
GtVG has what I want when I pick up a controller to play a game on console and what I expect on the PC.
