I know younger folks say the acting in this series is amazing. I thought it was okay, but that’s because I’ve seen the original movie, ‘A Killing in a Small Town’. Barbara Hershey is compelling as Candy & Lee Garlington’s portrayal of Betty is much more persuasive than Melanie Lynskey’s (even though I do love her as a comic actress). Then you have the masterful Brian Dennehy as Candy’s lawyer. The scene where Betty is murdered is spine-chilling in its authenticity. Much more so than in this series. So anyway, those who haven’t seen the movie owe it to themselves to do so. You will not be disappointed. To me there’s really no comparison.
