I was expecting something like Air Crash Investigation but this is a lot of very tenuous claims strung out for a story.
Hardly any aviation experts are even involved or interviewed and a disproportionate amount of time is given over to fringe figures with some utterly bizarre theories that would require such an elaborate cover up that just seems completely incomprehensible.
I was hoping for something more credible but we’re literally interviewing the likes of a random member of the public who’s part of a social media group that’s looking at extremely blurry images of ocean and highlighting anything white and superimposing plane outlines over them. Do we really think the nose of the plane would be conveniently floating face up, cockpit windows and all nicely facing the sky in that level of intactness? I feel you could have offered an ink blot test and they would say it’s a plane.
Overall, it depends what you want, a realistic investigative documentary of what happened or a bit of fiction to spice things up. If it’s the latter it’s watchable and somewhat interesting. If it’s the former, you’ll get a few bits of genuine investigation but it ultimately tapers into delusion.
I sincerely hope there’s some closure in the future for all those impacted in this tragedy. This series however is quite far from that.
