The subject matter itself is very intriguing but the ending left one kind of empty and thinking how absurd a movie can be. The customs and history of the geisha was fascinating but the movie felt like it was missing something; character development perhaps or a strong need or palpable desire from the main character. The little girl was what moved the movie.
