I'm hooked on this show due to the acting capabilities of Kathy Bates (Mattie) and Skye Marshall (Olympia). Their chemistry together as work colleagues, while denying a friendship developing with each other, is a joy to watch. I like the strong black lead female character who is not afraid to stand up for her clients at the risk of having to make personal sacrifices to get them the justice they deserve, even giving up her position in the courtroom. Furthermore, it's refreshing to see the mix of the old generation wisdom and techniques working in harmony with the younger generation's tech savvy and modernized views. This show provides something fresh and different than what's already on the tube.....sorry......I mean streaming. It's worth a look.

I really enjoyed the pilot episode. Regardless of gender, race, or body shape of Queen Latifah, the show provides something different than other procedural dramas out there with similar plot lines. I agree, in the real world, some of the action scenes are implausible. However, I'm not watching for reality. I just want to be entertained, and this fits the bill. I like the chemistry between the characters and look forward to learning more about Robyn's past, her relationships with her allies, how she balances parenting with her work, and what is in store for she and the NYPD detective trying to discover her true identity.
