Not recommended - can’t believe Reese W has her “Reese’s Book Club” stamp on this. Clearly that means nothing. Read if you like endless depictions of marital rape and misogyny and abusive controlling behavior, which is the entire 2nd half of the book. The entire book is quite fat-phobic too. It was slow to start, then some parts were quite interesting, but I should have stopped reading at the 2nd half when it began sensationalizing abuse. I was hoping the ending would somehow redeem it but not so. The ending very clearly states through both dialogue and narration that the character who ends up with the abuser deserves to be abused. Why do we put up with garbage novels like this?? I got this from a neighbor’s Little Free Library, and I’m pained to see it’s a best seller. Parts of this could have been a really great novel if it had a purposeful message and didn’t victim-blame and wasn’t so horribly misogynistic. Just ugh.
